Applied AI Engineer (Contractor)

We're currently seeking a Applied AI Engineer (Contractor) to join our AI Engineering team. This role is based in San Francisco. Our staff enjoy a hybrid work environment, which includes working from the office at least two days per week.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

• Implement Agent and Multi-Agent architectures leveraging the latest advances in research
• Develop metrics to compute and measure the quality of LLM-generated content.
• Reproduce results from recent research papers about Agents, LLMs and AI evaluation metrics.
• Evaluate the accuracy of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
• Optimize the generation and query of Embedding vectors.
• Act as a client-facing representative, effectively communicating results and progress to stakeholders in daily meetings as well as fluidly in client’s Microsoft Teams chat.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Python
• 3+ years of experience with SQL
• In-depth understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and LLM evaluation metrics.
• In-depth understanding of Agent and Multi-Agent architectures
• Experience in AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Experience with NLP metrics such as BERT Score, Semantic Similarity, BLEURT, etc..
• Experience with Jupyter Notebooks.

Additional Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Experience implementing LLM based Agent and Multi-Agent solutions
• Experience with deep learning frameworks, particularly PyTorch.
• Experience with pharmaceutical or healthcare data.
• Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
• Experience reading and reproducing results from research papers.
• Experience in the implementation and optimization of embedding databases.
• Analytical approach coupled with solid communication skills and a sense of ownership.

The starting base pay for the Applied AI Engineer (Contractor) role is between $60.00 and $75.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, knowledge, skills, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
