Presently we are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to work remotely with our team on our latest project.
This position requires:
1. Technical Expertise:
Possess strong technical skills in data engineering, including experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, big data technologies, and data warehousing. Familiarity with Java, Scala, and relevant big data tools like Apache Spark.
2. Experience with Data Technologies:
Deep knowledge of databases (MySQL, Postgres, Redshift, Clickhouse) and experience with tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Data Pipelines, and messaging tools like Kafka, AWS SQS, etc.
3. Strong Analytical Skills:
Ability to write complex SQL queries and understand the trade-offs in data warehousing and processing. Experience with OLTP and OLAP databases.
4. Cloud and Architecture Knowledge:
Experience with cloud computing, containers, microservice architecture, and event-driven architectures. Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
5. Communication and Leadership:
Excellent communication skills to articulate technical designs and trade-offs. Strong leadership skills with the ability to balance business needs with technical considerations.
6. Agile and Remote-First Experience:
Comfortable working in a multicultural, remote-first, and primarily asynchronous work environment. Familiar with agile methodologies.
7. Data Visualization and Reporting :
Experience in developing user-friendly dashboards, charts, reports, and data visualizations. Understanding of data quality assessments and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
8. Machine Learning Experience:
A significant plus if experienced in maintaining ML models in production or applying MLOps practices.
