Job description
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our Accounting & Finance team in Brazil. You will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, reporting and financial operations of the organization, ensuring reporting accuracy, regulatory and tax compliance, and strategic financial planning and analysis. This role involves leading a team and collaborating with senior stakeholders to drive financial efficiency and support decision-making processes.
What you will focus on:
Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Drive integration of financial accounts into Blueground Group accounts
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to establish financial plans.
- Monitor variances between actual and budgeted results, analyzing causes and recommending corrective actions.
Financial Controls and Risk Management:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them effectively.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and oversee professional development initiatives.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Interface with senior management to present financial reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel as necessary.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or CPA designation preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in a financial management role, preferably within a group or multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with a track record of team development.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting tools; familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strategic thinking ability and a demonstrated aptitude for making sound financial decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese/Spanish is required.
