Job Description Qualifications:
Boeing Brazil is seeking Associate Propulsion System Engineer , reporting to the Propulsion Engineering Manager, working out of the São José dos Campos, Brazil office.
The
Associate Propulsion System Engineer will join B
oeing Commercial Aircraft team who provide support to all Boeing commercial models both in development and in airline service. These models include programs such as the 737MAX, 747-8, 767, 777/777F, 787, the 777-9 family of airplanes, or all-new airplane(s) that our product development organization studies.
The engineers will work on the Propulsion System Design and Certification for Thrust Reverser, Thrust Reverser Actuation System, Engine Controls, Fuel Quantity Indication System, and other System Integration activities.
Position Responsibilities: • Supports definition of requirements for the functions above.
• Supports definitions, coordination and control of the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.
• Supports development of specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle fuel systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Supports design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria.
• Supports use of various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.
• Supports definition and performance of certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.
• Supports fielded systems to assure continued reliability and airworthiness.
• Supports development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.
• Write FHA, SSA reports, Test Proposals, Test Results, Certifications Plans, and Issue Papers.
• Engineers in this position are expected to work assignments, collaborate with teammates, and receive tasking from lead managers and senior engineers.
• The engineer in this position is also expected to work under general supervision.
• Suport technical aspects with other senior, experienced and principal engineers within the Propulsion System and with other cross-functional areas.
This position is onsite. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering
• Must be registered or eligible to register with Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia – CREA)
• Proficient in both verbal and written English skills
• Must be legally able toa work in Brazil
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience): • Knowledge or certification through FAA or other regulatory agencies
• Experience with system design and integration during an airplane development program
• Occasional travel may be required in support of the program and customer
• Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering environment
