We are looking for a well-rounded Senior Database Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for the daily operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of databases. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring databases are running smoothly Perform routine maintenance tasks to optimize database performance Implement and execute regular backup strategies to safeguard critical data Investigate and resolve database-related issues promptly Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and troubleshoot system anomalies Monitor and optimize database queries for enhanced performance. Analyze and fine-tune SQL queries to improve efficiency and responsiveness Participate in a bi-weekly on-call rotation schedule to address any database-related issues outside regular working hours Provide 24/7 on-call support, ensuring rapid response and resolution in case of critical incidents Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimizing MySQL databases, including proficiency in schema design, query optimization, and troubleshooting Strong scripting skills in Bash for automating routine tasks, maintenance, and monitoring scripts to ensure efficient database operations Familiarity with Python scripting for additional automation tasks, data manipulation, and integration with other tools or systems Would be a plus Knowledge or experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC), enabling the automation of provisioning and managing infrastructure resources Familiarity with NoSQL databases, providing versatility in managing different types of data storage systemsJob tags
