Payroll Analyst II (band 5)
Position Summary
Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for a Payroll Analyst, responsible for guaranteeing accurate payment to the employees, review and promote process improvements, guarantee process compliance and controls in the vendor relationship, systems and partner areas like Finance and Accounting. He will help us take our Payroll processes to a new level by making it automated, scalable and smart.
Essential Functions:
- Payroll calculation check, managing the relationship with the Payroll vendor, Process integration
- Electronic information management and overtime calculation
- Setting up employee option for, benefit and all other taxable benefit and deductions
- Employee changes update such as merit, adjustment in pay, pension deduction percentage, wage garnishments, Asefisher, popular bank, INS etc.
- Managing severance file for terminated employees.
- Payments of commissions and bonuses
- Monthly and biweekly payroll payments
- Run PICOF process from Workday system, capture the changes and audit prior to processing payroll.
- Bank payments control
- Accounting preparation and checking for alignment with the finance team
- All taxes checking and payment processing (ISR and others)
- Social Security review
- Continuous improvement for the Payroll processing and check processes, looking for automation opportunities
- Responding to employees on related payroll concerns and issues timely
- Participate in global systems implementation projects, definition of roles and responsibilities, etc.
Required Qualification:
- Knowledge of payroll processes for LATAM countries, preferably Costa Rica and Panama
- Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll for large and mid-size organization
- Is required working with multiple payroll entities would be considered as a huge asset
- Prior work experience with ADP Globalview, SOFTLAND, Servicenow and Workday
- Payroll laws and regulations, payroll calcs (do and check) with experience working with external vendor processing, accounting closing for payroll and benefits, bank management for payroll
- Process improvement mindset and experience
- Fluent in English and spanish
- Programing languages and experience for processes automation
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, labor laws of the countries supported, compensation, staffing, employee relations, etc.
- Regional experience with payroll project
- Payroll vendor management experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
