Project Description

We are looking for candidates to join our team as Customer Reliability Engineer and work on the project related to development and support of client software for modern video streaming service for one of the largest TV providers in the US.

Responsibilities

• Improve client reliability through root cause analysis, blameless postmortems, and using code guard rails to prevent problem recurrence
• Be the central point of contact on the health of client applications to increase product reliability and organizational efficiency
• Be a part of an on-call rotation for responding to customer-facing emergencies.
• Continuously improve production incident response and triage practices by implementing best SRE practices
• Document the details of incident, root cause, resolution and solution.
• Participate in planning, standups, and retrospective meetings to prioritize and understand reliability practices
• Effective collaboration with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Participate in reviews and operational readiness for client releases
• Perform deep dives into both client and systemic reliability issues
• Support releases activities and production environment testing
• Hold frequent lesson learned events and update documents on how-to's and best practices

Skills

Must have

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Expertise in client development languages (React Native, Java, Kotlin, Obj-C, Swift, Brightscript, JS). Preference given to React Native since that covers the most platforms.
• Previous experience with mobile applications development
• Good verbal/written communication skills
• Experience with Atlassian suite tools (JIRA, Confluence)
• Strong passion in diagnosis software and distributed systems
• Expertise in modern client development methodologies and enterprise software platforms
• Ability to deep dive in existing architecture and implementation to assist in solving problems
• Solid understanding of client designs, including multi tier & multi tenancy frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of various aspects of client design, coding and analysis
• Understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases, data structures, and algorithms.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or computer science.
• Experience working with Agile development technologies.
• Experience with NewRelic and Kibana
