Challenge
As a Software Engineer, you will be in a hands-on role building rich experiences, backend services, APIs, and infrastructure as code, and making sure the code performs as intended, and that users love to use it.
What you'll do
• Build reliable, observable, resilient, and scalable code that powers web applications supporting our customers and internal stakeholders.
• Work on both server and client-side web software, releasing new software every day: single-page apps, built to scale responsively from mobile devices to desktop browsers, scalable APIs, practicing continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Own the entire life of your software, from the initial design through release and observation, being responsible for that software’s continued health.
• Inspire and mentor junior developers as they ramp up their knowledge and experience alongside you.
• Work closely with our Product Management and Product Design across all engineering specialties to help decide which features to build and how to build them efficiently.
In order to succeed in this position, you will need:
Mandatory skills
• Advanced/fluent English skills – Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid experience using Javascript , React, and Next , as well as Python with Django .
• Experience with AWS -hosted environments, IaC using Terraform , CI/CD pipelines, and Docker .
• Understand why Test Driven Development (TDD) is critical while writing code.
Nice-to-have
• Experience with SQL and databases in general (including non-relational databases and modern cloud database solutions).
Non-technical skills
• Being curious: constantly seeking knowledge, and information, and also sharing them with teammates.
• Self-starter, proactive, and enthusiastic, with a sense of ownership, and accountability on daily responsibilities.
• Passion to work in a startup dynamic, being able to solve unique problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Being passionate about helping children and working with a bigger purpose.
