Job description
We are looking for someone with sales experience in some type of heavy equipment industry or environment. Someone who isn’t afraid to cold call or drop in on construction projects where heavy equipment is clearly being utilized is going to be the right fit for this role, AND would be working a very lucrative territory for this particular company.
Important Things First
- Pay: $50-$60k base (may be negotiable but not if someone doesn’t have more years of heavy equipment sales experience)
- Commission: Additional commission provided (not included in the base range above)
- Total comp with base + commission: in the first year, someone can make up to $100k a year, but top producers in this role make around $200k/year
- Travel requirements: Mostly within drivable territory but very occasionally there is overnight travel (for sure 2x a month for training out of state)
- Travel expenses: Company vehicle OR vehicle allowance provided; expense account with company credit card provided; company laptop and cell phone provided

Duties
- Hunter-type sales activity, from cold calling, to networking, to drop-ins, etc.
- Frequent local travel within the drivable southeastern regional territory (below Greenville all the way to Atlanta, etc.)
- Maintain relationships with leads, contacts, or accounts
- Come up with sales strategies in order to reach sales goals
- Attend events in order to conduct heavy equipment sales
- Draw up quotes, contracts, invoices, etc. as well as other administrative upkeep for accounts as necessary
Qualifications
- Years of experience in hunter-type sales required
- Experience in some capacity with heavy equipment required (more than just warehouse equipment operation if possible)
- Eager in sales and enjoys finding, building, and keeping those relationships
- VERY good follow up, organizational skills, and detail
- Professional, amicable communication (both written and verbal)
- Basic computer skills required
- Comfortable with frequent travel and legally able to operate a vehicle
- Able to pass drivers check, background check, and drug screen
- Comfortable with training out of state twice a month
