Who are we looking for?
Our client seeking an experienced professional Process Engineer who specializes in Olefins Technology and worked heavily in Mixed Feed Steam Cracking (MFSC) to join the Project of Liquid to Chemicals Project Management. The Project executes an integrated scope of Residue Upgrade Complex and a world-scale Mixed Feed Steam Cracker alongside downstream petrochemical units to convert low-value bottom-of-the-barrel Fuel Oil produced into more valuable premium products and further into petrochemicals.
The Process Engineer's primary role is to ensure that engineering design, procurement, construction, and project completion are done in compliance with the project objective and contractual requirements including project schedule, cost, HSE, company standards, and procedures. The role also involves the review and study of grass root and brownfield refining and petrochemical facilities.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. A higher degree is preferred.
- 15 years of experience in the Refining and Petrochemical industries with a specialty in Mixed Feed Steam Cracking (MFSC), such that the incumbent is recognized as an expert in this field, including at least 5 years of field experience in construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and operation.
- Experience in the Engineering Design & Construction phase with a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles in the applicable International Codes, Standards, and Specifications.
- Ability to work in a diverse working environment, with multinational teams, and mobilize to different locations, both domestically and internationally, including remote areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute capital projects according to the scope, schedule, and budget.
- Provide technical support for Liquid-to-Chemicals (LTC) projects involving Mixed Feed Steam Cracking (MFSC) units and associated facilities at various stages of execution (pre-feasibility, feasibility, basic and detailed engineering).
- Be closely familiar with different Steam Cracking technologies (Gas vs. Liquid cracking) and major licensors (Lummus, Technip, KBR, Linde).
- Maintain and enhance best practices in olefins facilities design and operation.
- Provide the technical input and review of the design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup of facilities.
- Responsible for project development: engineering studies, licensors selection, technical bid reviews, preliminary engineering, detail designs, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning, and startup.
- Manage General Engineering Services (GES) design contractor activities during the development of Pre-FEED & FEED, including definition of project work scope and schedule requirements. Development of detailed estimate leading to funding appropriation and approval.
- Be familiar with international procedures of project phases, Engineering Phases, Bidding procedures, Procurement Processes, Construction Requirements, and up-to-date Best Practices.
- Understand contract documents (inclusive of appendices, drawings, and specifications), project execution plan, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, standards specifications, and project schedule to support the project manager and/or company representative in the timely completion of projects.
- Provide problem-solving services and develop technically innovative process solutions with appropriate risk consideration.
- Address technical issues arising in all phases of the project development related to Olefins Technology - Mixed Feed Steam Cracking (MFSC) and associated facilities.
- Participate in developing process deliverables such as BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, H&MB, data sheets, C&E diagrams, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, simulations, 3D modeling, energy optimization, startup plans, etc.
- Perform change order scope definition, and cost estimation and assist the Project Manager or Company representative in the change management process.
- Assess project schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned project progress and challenges below per performance of the contractor.
- Provide routine process (design and construction) support to facilities such as Mixed Feed Steam Cracking (MFSC) and related facilities.
- Develop and/or review testing and commissioning procedures for process equipment, especially Mixed Feed Steam Cracking (MFSC).
- Be familiar with leading technology licensors/ Vendors, international standards, and value improvement practices.
- Uphold engineering ethics and maintain high standards of professional behavior and conduct.
Job Benefits
- Monthly Base Salary – aligned with company employees with similar skills
- Monthly Overbase – 25% of your monthly base salary
- Benefits Supplement – 20% of your monthly base salary, after 3 years of service, reward increases to 25% of base, after 6 years 30% of base, and after 12 years 35% of base
- Severance Package (2-year vest period) – year 2 to 5: 2 week's pay for each year of service, Year 6+: 4 week's pay for each year after

- Travel Allowance – annual; approx. $8,200 per household member 11+ years old residing in Saudi Arabia and $6,000 per household member under 11 years old
- Vacation & Paid Holidays – 38 vacation days / 4 travel days / 11-13 paid holidays
- Medical/Dental Plan – complimentary in-Kingdom Johns Hopkins medical care/facilities for employee and eligible family members. In-Kingdom dental services subsidized
- Educational Assistance Plan (EAP) – Out of Kingdom Assistance: 90% of expenses with a maximum per child, lesser of 5x monthly base salary or the company max ($48.5K), plus 3 round-trip economy air travel tickets; undergraduate college-age children get 2 round-trip economy air travel tickets; In Kingdom Assistance: 2x monthly base salary or the company max ($16.3K)
- Settling in Allowance – one-time payment; Family Status - 100% of monthly base salary; Single/Bachelor Status – 60% of monthly base salary

2. Interviews Stage:

2.2 Client Face to Face interview: This interview will happen only if your resume is approved by our client, we cannot guarantee the time our client will take to approve your resume, but it should take less than a week.
If your resume is approved a member of the Talent Acquisition Team will get back to you and schedule a face-to-face meeting in a defined location. You will be told to go to the location.
The client interview contains technical questions that help assess your familiarity with problem-solving in your given field and may include a behavioral evaluation. Be prepared to explain how you approach problems and produce solutions.
If your face-to-face interview is successful, the hiring team will further evaluate your resume, decide, and then receive a conditional job offer.

3. Conditional Offer:
A successful interview may result in a conditional offer of employment.
