Position Title: Senior Storage Engineer
(Note: We are hiring for all two levels: Senior, Lead)
What will you do:
The Senior Storage engineer is a hands-on engineering role that will be responsible for the operational management of the Client storage environment. This role will have knowledge of unstructured data storage (NAS/Cloud) and/or structured data storage (SAN). The lead role will drive the engineering of innovative storage solutions that are secure and scalable. This role will also understand the security aspects of SMB and NFS storage platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in Incident, Problem & Change Management functions.
- Ensure Storage platforms are monitored properly and are healthy.
- Coordinate storage platform OS Patching to ensure Compliance
- Minimize Configuration drift, to drive a more consistent and reliable OS that is easier to manage
- Deploy and upgrade firmware and updates as necessary
- Partner with the business to understand their needs and to minimize impact due to changes.
- Create and maintain regulatory documentation such as SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), WIs (Work Instructions), STDs (Standards), GDLs (Guidelines), etc.
- Collaborate and integrate with engineering services and platforms.
- Creates opportunities for efficiencies through innovative strategic decisions balancing cost and quality.
- Delivers high-quality work outcomes and customer service in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting to meet company needs.
- Drive innovation through the automation of services and capabilities
Qualifications:
- BA/BS required and a degree in STEM field preferred
- 3+ years of relevant technology experience in one or more of these storage technologies: HP 3Par Storage, Dell PowerFlex Storage, Dell VSAN storage, NetApp NAS storage
- Demonstrated hands-on Storage Engineering/Operations experience
- Demonstrated experience in storage security concepts such as SMB or NFS
- Outstanding employee relations skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with a variety of teams.
- Proven track record of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize in parallel.
- Customer service orientation, eye for business value, and a bias for action.
- Expert at working with virtual, and diverse global teams of varied backgrounds and cultural experiences.
- Exercises independent judgment, strong decision making and problem solving for key processes.
- Experience working in On-premise Cloud and public virtual private Clouds.
