We are seeking an Integration Specialist to design, manage, and coordinate integration processes between healthcare applications and systems, with a necessary strong knowledge and experience in HL7 FHIR projects. The person holding this role will be responsible for developing strategies and protocols to ensure that various healthcare applications and systems can work seamlessly together to provide accurate and timely patient care.
Main Responsibilities
Develop of strategies and protocols for the integration of healthcare applications and systems, with a particular focus on HL7 FHIR projects.
Map out the various applications and systems that need to be integrated.
Conduct a thorough analysis of existing systems, including their functionality, interoperability, and compatibility with other applications and HL7 FHIR.
Develop a detailed project plan outlining specific steps required for integration, including HL7 FHIR specifications.
Manage the integration process and ensure that all stakeholders are involved.
Coordinate with IT teams, clinical staff, and vendors to ensure successful integration, with a particular focus on HL7 FHIR implementation.
Monitor and maintain integrated systems to ensure ongoing effective functioning, with a focus on HL7 FHIR compatibility, among others.

You will be accountable for:
Designing, configuring, and testing components to ensure interoperability between healthcare applications and systems. You will be accountable for ensuring that these components work seamlessly together to provide accurate and timely patient care. Your main duties will include:
Model, configure, and test components: You will be responsible for designing and configuring integration components to ensure seamless data exchange between healthcare applications and systems. You will also test the components to ensure that they function as expected.
Coordinate actors involved in integration flows: You will coordinate internal and external stakeholders involved in the integration flows, including IT teams, clinical staff, vendors, and other third-party providers.
Support analysis and design of integration workflows: You will support the analysis and design of integration workflows, including mapping out various applications and systems that need to be integrated.
Oversee testing of integrated solutions: You will oversee the testing of integrated solutions to ensure that they meet quality standards and are compatible with other healthcare applications and systems.
Collaborate with different teams: You will play a central role in integration projects, collaborating with development and delivery teams, pre-sales and post-sales managers, and different Product Owners. You will be responsible for ensuring that all stakeholders are involved and that the integration process runs smoothly.
Overall, as an Integration Specialist, you will be accountable for ensuring the successful integration of various healthcare applications and systems, with a focus on HL7 FHIR projects. You will play a central role as the first specialist in the integration process, from designing and configuring components to overseeing testing and collaborating with different teams. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure that integrated solutions work seamlessly together to provide accurate and timely patient care.
Education:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in information science or biomedical engineering with a focus on IT, or similar
A university degree that includes the study of data structures, algorithms, and computer bases.
You should have a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and computer bases, which will be critical to your success in designing and configuring integration components.
Experience:
It will be important that you have had some years of implementation and/or delivery experience on middleware systems in integration projects based on APIs development and HL7 FHIR.
Gained experience in Healthcare IT and integration projects, with at least 2 projects involving HL7 FHIR implementation and API development.
Your work experience should demonstrate your ability to be the first specialist for integration projects, with a particular focus on middleware systems and API development, preferably in the healthcare industry.
You should have some years of experience in implementing and delivering middleware systems in integration projects based on API development and HL7 FHIR. Additionally, you should have gained experience in Healthcare IT and integration projects, with at least 2 projects involving HL7 FHIR implementation and API development.
Overall, a strong educational background and relevant work experience are critical to success in the role of an Integration Specialist. You should possess a deep understanding of information science, biomedical engineering, and IT, with a particular focus on data structures, algorithms, and computer bases.
Important skills to perform on this role:
Professional proficiency in English since you will work with worldwide teams.
Knowledge of healthcare messaging standards, particularly HL7 and IHE, which are widely used in the healthcare industry.
Experience with data manipulation and related query skills, such as XSL, XML, XPath, and JSON files, which are critical for designing and configuring integration components. You should be familiar with techniques for processing and transforming JSON data, as this format is commonly used in modern healthcare applications and systems.
Knowledge of databases and communication protocols: a good understanding of both relational and non-relational databases and be familiar with communication protocols and architectural styles such as SOAP, REST, and TCP/IP.
Ability to analyze, design, and model processes and workflows according to designed scenarios.
A good understanding of n-tier web architectures, which are used in many healthcare applications and systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse team of stakeholders, including developers, IT teams, clinical staff, vendors, and other third-party providers.
Ability to work in virtual teams, as many healthcare integration projects involve remote team members located in different parts of the world.
Adaptability and proactive problem-solving to be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment which is the healthcare industry.
Passion, enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep understanding of healthcare issues to be able to think outside the box to find innovative solutions to complex healthcare integration challenges.
