DevOps Engineer (Contractor)

Job description
FORT Robotics is seeking an experienced DevOps Contractor to contribute to our team for a 12-18 month contract. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain our cloud infrastructure and DevOps processes. A successful candidate should have extensive experience working with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform and be capable of working remotely full-time.
Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on both Microsoft Azure
- Optimize cloud resources for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Implement best practices for security and compliance.
Kubernetes Orchestration:
- Manage, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters for containerized applications.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Automate deployment and scaling processes.
Terraform Infrastructure as Code:
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform.
- Create reusable, version-controlled infrastructure templates.
- Collaborate with development teams to automate infrastructure provisioning.
Automation and CI/CD:
- Implement and improve continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Automate routine operational tasks and workflows.
- Monitor and ensure system stability and reliability.
Monitoring and Logging:
- Set up monitoring and alerting systems for infrastructure and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues.
- Ensure proper log management and analysis.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for infrastructure and processes.
- Share knowledge and best practices with the team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Strong proficiency in Kubernetes administration and orchestration.
- Expertise in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), and version control (e.g., Git).
- Solid scripting and coding skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Knowledge of networking, security, and best practices in cloud environments.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Relevant certifications such as Azure DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are a plus.
