Job Summary: A central product in this business unit is MirrorEye®, the innovative camera-based replacement for the traditional rearview mirrors on trucks. The system includes new intelligent functions in vehicle applications, e.g., object detection. The Functional Safety Engineer is part of the development of these innovations in the automotive industry. This role will ensure that all of our products are safe.
Principle responsibilities: Acts as FuSa safety authority and expert for the project team; SME Expertise areas: Systems HW/SW to evaluate safety work products for compliance to FuSa objectives. Supports approval / sign-off of Functional Safety Process as deployed by a project which meets the safety obligations of the customer; Leads the development of the Safety Project Plan in compliance with the customer safety plan with guidance from Corporate FuSa Manager; Assists team in proper safety analysis / change points to align SRI and customer needs. Leads execution of the FuSa deliverables and plan; Supports Approval / Signoff of the Safety Project Plan with all stakeholders; Delivers communication and escalation of Safety Project Plan Metrics with all stakeholders; Supports the Manager in approval / sign off of Functional Safety Work Products as developed by a project; Education, experience and knowledge: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; 2+ years of automotive electronics system, software, hardware experience; Minimum of 2 years experience with Functional Safety Standards (ISO26262, IEC61508); Team oriented, self-motivated, dependable, and consistent with excellent networking and communication skills; Proactive attitude, ability to analyze information, take initiatives and make decisions; Organized, structured way of working, ability to take a holistic view still with attention to details.Job tags
