Resumo do Perfil do Cargo
The primary responsibility of the Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is to ensure processes are in place and validated to ensure products and services arrive on our rig defect free. The SQE is responsible to assist in the resolution of our supplier's equipment or service quality defects. The SQE role will participate in improving equipment reliability at any stage of the equipment lifecycle including but not limited to functional design specification, engineering design, product realization, and initial stages of use on our rigs. The SQE is to have a working knowledge of Transocean equipment specifications, OEM manufacture specifications, industry codes / standards, quality control methodology, and manufacturing techniques. Such codes include but not limited to ASME, ASNT, CWI, NACE, Norsok, etc. Leveraging from their extensive manufacturing background, the SQE will assist with technical inquiries from various intercompany departments such as Operations, Technical Services, Engineering, Reliability, Supply Chain, Category Managers, Projects, and New Build organizations. Candidate must have a good knowledge and experience in QMS Audits as per ISO 9001 and API Q1. When required, it is the responsibility of the SQE to work on technical support teams with our customers. This role is required to perform current and potential critical supplier technical audit (Special Processes- Welding/NDE/Heat Treatment/ Coating/Plating), failure investigations, equipment qualifications, and assist in problem solving.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Critical Supplier Development- QMS & Technical Auditing, Equipment qualification, Nonconformance management etc.
- Leadership role with OEM’s – Account Manager for OEMs, Key Performance Indicators, Improvement Plans, etc.
- Execute Pre-production Kick Off Meetings (PPKOM) with Suppliers and 3rd Party (DNV/ ABS).
- Equipment or Services equipment failure resolution and Nonconformance management.
- Support Internal Departments within Transocean.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree - Applied Science, Preferred - Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
- Minimum 8-10 years' work experience with equipment manufacturing, quality, fabrication application, and inspection methodologies and QMS auditing. Preferred: Minimum 10 years' work experience with equipment manufacturing, quality, fabrication application, and inspection methodologies with 3 years in a leadership position.
Skills:
- Working knowledge and understanding of manufacturing / fabrication processes that include mechanical equipment, preventative maintenance, general metallurgy, welding, marine drilling industry and relevant oilfield equipment (blowout preventers, well control systems and equipment, diverters, marine drilling risers, etc.).
- Must demonstrate working knowledge in the designated discipline and possess organizational skills to multitask multiple projects in parallel.
- Candidate must have excellence written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
- Candidate must have working knowledge of Supplier management and development through Key performance indicators, and improvement plans.
- Candidate must have a good knowledge and experience in QMS Audits as per ISO 9001 and API Q1.
- Candidate must have general knowledge of six sigma and Lean improvement methodologies.
- General knowledge of Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Det Norske Veritas (DNV) rules as well as American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Welding Society (AWS), Norsok and National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) applicable standards.
- Excellent organizational, time management, workload prioritization, critical thinking skills.
- Ability to deal with frequent change and manage competing demands.
- Ability to perform under pressure and deliver a quality work product.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, with particular focus on Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
Additional:
- This role is a leadership position to ensure satisfaction from our customer base. It is not intended to be a developmental role but a role that delivers results. The role requires international travel and the ability to be culturally adapt to the region of travel.Travel can be up to but not limited to 25%.
Pre-Requisite/ Qualification
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and medical clearance.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment background check.
