The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations System and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UNEP's Latin America and the Caribbean Office (LACO) helps to implement UNEP's global programs in the region by initiating, coordinating and catalyzing regional and sub-regional cooperation and action in response to environmental problems and emergencies. This position is located in UNEP/Brazil Office at Brasilia duty station. Under the direct supervision of the Regional Director, the incumbent is responsible for representing UNEP in the UN Country Team, leading the engagement with the government/ other strategic partners to advance the implementation of UNEP's Programme of Work in the country and will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
