Position Title: Compute / Virtualization Engineer | Senior Compute / Virtualization Engineer | Lead Compute / Lead Engineer Location: Remote Job Description: What will you do: The Senior compute and virtualization engineer will be a hands on operational engineer with strong experience in the software defined data center, virtualization and compute platforms. This role will be responsible for the scalable and secure software defined storage solutions, The incumbent will be knowledgeable in hardware, hypervisor and compute solutions. Responsibilities: Engage in Incident, Problem & Change Management functions. Ensure the virtualization platforms are monitored properly, and are healthy. Configure hypervisor and virtualization solutions to provide stable and secure platform Minimize Configuration drift, to drive a more consistent and reliable OS that is easier to manage Deploy and upgrade firmware and updates as necessary Create and maintain regulatory documentation such as SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), WIs (Work Instructions), STDs (Standards), GDLs (Guidelines), etc. Collaborate and integrate with engineering services and platforms. Creates opportunities for efficiencies through innovative strategic decisions balancing cost and quality. Delivers high quality work outcomes and customer service in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting to meet company needs. Drive innovation through automation of services and capabilities Qualifications: BA/BS required and degree in STEM field preferred 3+ years of relevant technology experience in one or more of these storage technologies: Dell Compute hardware, Dell VSAN solutions, VMware vsphere hypervisor, VMware vrealize suite, VMware SRM software Outstanding employee relations skills. The ability to work collaboratively with a variety of teams. Proven track record of innovation and continuous improvement. Ability to work in fast-paced environment and prioritize in parallel. Customer service orientation, eye for business value, and a bias for action. Expert at working with virtual, and diverse global teams of varied backgrounds and cultural experiences. Exercises independent judgment, strong decision making and problem solving for key processes. Experience working in On-premise Cloud and public virtual private Clouds.
