Job description
The Assistant Cheese Plant Director will play a pivotal role in assisting the Cheese Plant Director in managing all aspects of our dairy cheese production facility. This position requires strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of cheese production processes. The Assistant Cheese Plant Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient operation, maintain product quality, and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Cheese Plant Director in planning and organizing daily production activities to meet production targets and customer demands.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high-quality standards throughout the cheese production process.
- Supervise and train production staff, providing guidance and support to optimize performance and productivity.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and product development teams to implement and monitor quality control programs.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
- Manage inventory levels and work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
- Assist with maintenance planning and coordination to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation of equipment.
- Support the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Prepare reports and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and track progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cheese production or a related area, with a solid understanding of cheese manufacturing processes.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and train production staff.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control procedures in the dairy industry.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address production challenges and implement process improvements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
