System architects in the area of Platform as a Service at TU Wien IT

Part-time from 30 hours with the option of full-time | permanent

The Department of Infrastructure has two vacancies for System Architects in the area of Platform as a Service in TU Wien IT, expected to start in April 2024 (part-time from 30 hours per week with the option of full-time, permanent) with the following responsibilities.

Your tasks:

• Planning and optimization of the provisioning systems at TU Wien (OpenShift, Openstack, Kubernetes, VMware)
• Planning and optimization of the storage technology (Ceph) and the fiber optic storage networks (FC-SAN) of the TU Vienna
• Further development of the DevOps approach at TU.it
• Evaluation of new concepts in the area of Infrastructure as a Service (e.g. GitOps); experience an advantage but not a prerequisite
• Planning and optimization of the accompanying aspects of server operation (e.g. monitoring, backup)
• Ongoing training in the area of Platform as a Service and willingness to experiment with new solutions

Your profile:

• Academically trained computer scientist with knowledge of Platform as a Service (e.g. Openstack, OpenShift, Kubernetes and similar experience/training), virtualization with VMware, storage technology (Ceph, Datacore with certification) and/or fiber optic storage networks (FC-SAN)
• Analytical problem solving skills
• Ability to innovate and willingness to learn
• Personal responsibility
• Accuracy in implementation and documentation
• Very good communication skills
• High degree of team spirit

The classification is in employment group IVB according to the collective agreement of the universities and amounts to EUR 3,578.80 gross/month for a weekly employment of 40 hours per week. Previous periods of employment will be taken into account.
