Job description

Penguin Random House US' International Sales team is seeking a Germany based Sales Manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, who will be selling the complete Penguin US list as well as several of our distribution clients within the assigned territory.   The Sales Manager will be working within our Europe, Middle East, Africa sales team and will also  regularly communicate with the New York office.  

Responsibilities include selling to wholesalers, retailers and indirect accounts in the respective markets and developing and implementing sales strategies for specific title and budget goals and for growing our market share and account base in the region.

Other responsibilities include:

  1. Analyzing sales statistics to determine business growth potentials and strategies.
  2. Managing daily communication with accounts on a wide variety of customer issues, including orders, inventory, and local on-sale-dates and prices.
  3. Preparing marketing plans with customers on key titles and managing title submissions.
  4. Coordinating author events with publicists and local distributors.
  5. Suggesting publication strategies including specialized formats and printings.
