Harbour is a church that is committed to sharing the gospel, making disciples, planting churches and building leaders. We are passionate about making disciples and multiplying disciples and desire to be a community that lives deep; obeying all that Jesus commanded and to "...become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Eph 4:13).
We are a healthy and growing church with strong and thriving discipleship groups. Located in St.Catharines, Ontario, Harbour is in the heart of the Niagara Region. In Niagara there are 400,000 people far from God. Believing that the harvest is plentiful, our church lives on mission to reach our community. We are boldly sharing Jesus in our community and by God's grace have started 3 churches in the last 5 years. In the midst of all that God is doing, we read Acts 14:22 "strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith..." and as we remain obedient to the command to make disciples of all nations, God is opening doors for us to partner with people, organizations and churches all across Ontario to build His kingdom.
Harbour has run a Summer Ministry Internship Program for the past 9 years. We are dedicated to investing in the lives of the students, giving them a summer experience that cultivates skills that will last a lifetime. The full time Summer Ministry Intern- Program Ofiicer postion is for 12 weeks.
Responsibilities:
• develop relationships with sponsorship agreement holders to secure more spots for refugee settlement
• work with ministry director on application process for new cosponsors
• develop Harbour web presence for refugee program
• work with Harbour families that will connect with new refugees to provide support for practical needs
• connect refugees with local resources for medical, school, transportation and employment
• establish opportunities for friendship development for new refugees to practice speaking English
• engage with kids during daycamp with focus on any recently settled refugees
• create web based system for collecting items from Harbour community for initial refugee settlement
